Using Up My Stash Blog Hop- Christmas in July

  • It's Christmas in July!

Please feel free to doctor this as needed. I by no means is an expert so this is just a little guidance.Note the Bold areas below should be larger and another color to help the hoppers find their way. You'll need to link back to my blog for the list but no need to make it larger.

If you are joining us for the "Use Your Stash Blog Hop" you are right on track. WELCOME! You should be coming from Rachel's Blog.

There are 7 participants this month. If you get lost along the way you can see the entire list of hoppers on Rachel's Blog. Let's get started.

Today I am showcasing  a layout that brings a new meaning to Christmas in July.

Today I am taking my boys to the zoo where they are going to have snow and sledding. My youngest son has never seen snow yet so I anticipate this to be quite the adventure. An adventure that is a must for a scrapbook. So I pulled out some snowy/Christmas paper that I typically only use for cards since I haven't had snow pictures in years. This paper was the Wonderland paper from the Autumn/Winter 2011 Idea book.

On top of this surprise, my oldest son's school aide will be joining us for the fun because she has been missing him all summer.

I left this open to add stamped images of animals depending on what all we do at the zoo besides sledding. Meanwhile, I did put a small sub title: Jacksonville Zoo July, 21, 2012

A dimensional embellishment that I added ribbon, fun flock and pearl paint to. Unfortunately my picture doesn't give it much justice on its appearance.

For this snowflake I took the dimensional element (chipboard snowflake) and covered it with pearl paint. Then before the pearl paint could dry I sprinkled some fun flock over it to give it added dimension and feel.

    fun flock sprinkled over glue.

A row of buttons alternating in size/design. The blue string is a Close To My Heart retired sassy strand. It worked great matching to this paper and is fluffy giving the feeling that snow can give. Then I distressed all the edges of the photo mats with either grey flannel or my edge distresser.

If you enjoyed this layout come back tomorrow for another Christmas in July Layout!
