I used the layering technique with a window on a layout instead of a card. In this layout I went about the layering in different ways.
Here I did a more normal layering of my paper to give a mat for the photo. I did use a die cut image from the cricut for the blue of this page.
To show off the layering I chose to use it as my journaling area. Then accented the edge with opaques.
Details of
technique and your variation: This technique is very easy especially went using the cricut. In short you are layering or sandwiching a die-cut design between two pieces of paper/card stock. This can give a window area in a card color and design. This can be done on scrapbook page layouts as well as cards as I showed in my pictures.
