Boy layouts with Pink

Pink paper and pictures of Boys

One challenge I have always enjoyed is finding ways to use girl paper that may be pleasing to the eye with pictures of boys. It has never been super easy, though sometimes it does prove to be easier than other times. Pink is usually one of the hardest colors to do this with, and typically I need a girl in the picture or something feminine in the pictures. While that is the case with the layouts below, there are many times where this does not have to be the case. For instance a boy running for breast cancer awareness, or has incorporated pink in his clothing.

I will note that I never bother to crop the stuff thats on my desk out of my pictures on purpose. While it may not look "professional" I am allowing you to peek in to my craft room , in the exact spot where I do the majority of all my creating, which in my perspective can be interesting because you never know why you may see that is inspiring the creator.

Father's Day!

Yesterday was father's day , and I hope that everyone had a wonderful day with the man/men in their lives. For my family it was a day of working on our garden, lounging together to watch transformers, and just enjoying time with each other. While there was no pictures taken during the day that is ok with me, because that tells me we were much to busy enjoying each others' company.

One of the gifts my husband got from me and the kids is featured below.

Convention is around the corner

Convention for Close To My Heart is just around the corner!

Now while I was originally planning on going, and even had a ticket purchased, after all its just a couple hours from me I had to take time to look at my current standing. While I was still very busy with my classes to finish my B.A. (YAY!!! its done!) I was not doing enough in my craft room, or holding events/parties to justify the expenditure with the current standing my family was in for fiances ect. So While I am sad to say I am not going to convention this year despite it's location I think that it was not only a smart move on my part but it is now giving me time to work on justifying maybe going next year pending on its location.

This will NOT stop me from updating you! below are the ways I will be doing updates as I get them. That being said I clearly will not be the first to give updates as Ill be giving you updates as I read them.

While i will not be able to attend the CTMH convention, there is a convention that is going to be just 30 mins. from my house, and my husband has already taken off so I can go to it... I've paid for some classes, and have my general tickets in hand (which I got for free)............it's the CKC Convention! There will be 2 CTMH classes at it which I will be attending both. Using up your Stash Blog Hop- metal embelishments

If you are joining us for the "Use Your Stash Blog Hop" you are right on track. WELCOME! You should be coming from Nikki's Blog.

There are 8 participants this month. If you get lost along the way you can see the entire list of hoppers on Rachel's Blog. Let's get started.

Today I am showcasing sing metal embellishments on a layout. With this the primary embellishing was done with metal pieces, and i used ones that coordinated with the Dream Pop paper as I am also showcasing it.

This was a fun layout for me in part because it did not focus on people, but rather pictures that most would not scrapbook due to something blocking part or all of the subject that the photo was being taken of.  In my case it was the first time we took our boys to disney world, and they both got balloons. The balloon our youngest son got constantly got in the way of the camera no matter what we did with it. Going through the pictures after the trip started to get amusing because we would always wonder is the blue balloon in the next picture.

On this page I used 2 metal embellishments. The first one is the yellow circle at the top of the layout. The majority of the metal pieces I used on this layout came from a retired Mini- Melody. They are packaged with several embellishing items to make it super easy to have stuff organized together that work well together. Then it is just a matter of picking one that matches the project. Below I have the mini-melodies linked on my website so the current ones can be viewed.
With the fun paper from the Dream Pop packet I found it perfect to use this metal piece to focus on a word thankful.
On both of the pictures on the second page I put 2 metal tabs on the pictures, then to help vary the color I used a different color metal brad.
This was the last metal piece I used which holds the journaling in place.

Supply List:
